Due to my yoga practice I became more aware of my body and the food I pit in my body. I to cook and eat good food, having been born and raised with the French kitchen, so in the beginning I found it rather difficult to combine both. However I discovered a whole new world of new dishes, herbs, vegetables and created my own new way of cooking. In this blog I will write now and then about my adventures in the yogi kitchen. To be continued ….
Yoga Retreat in Portugal
Last week I went to Portugal together with my sister. A small working holiday to prepare the yoga retreat that I will host in September. During this trip we worked really hard ;-). We made city trips to Porto and Aveiro, went to the beach and had lovely dinners at sunset. But we also visited The Farm where we will stay during the retreat, an amazing old Portuguese Farm in the middle of nature, with an ecological swimming pool. With our local guides, the best ever, we also went on a bike tour, a hike to the waterfall, with a lunch in the middle of nature up in the mountains. During both days we did several photo shoots. The result is amazing, watch the video below.

Yin Yoga
In April I finished my Yin Yoga level 1 teacher training in the Netherlands. I am so happy that I can share this beautiful practice now also with my students. Yin Yoga is the opposite of Yang Yoga, though the two practises complement each other.
We all need Yin and Yang in our lives, but how much of each varies from person to person. If you are used to a yang oriented yoga practice, it might be interesting to discover yin yoga as well. The yin practice is a more mindful meditative practice, since you hold a posture for 3 to 5 minutes or even longer. By holding the postures for such a long time the connective tissues will be stimulated. These tissues are less elastic than the muscles, you can compare it to plastic so they will break more easily, therefore they require a slow practise. By working on this tissues they can become a bit more flexible over time and this will increase the flexibility of the whole body.
Yin Yoga will increase the flexibility of the body, this will positively impact the Yang practise as well. So Yogi’s give it a try
